Coffee Pods

Instructions
Place in the landfill bin if you don't send it back to the manufacturer. Some coffee pods have a takeback program offered by their specific manufacturer, but it is not clear that they actually get recycled.
Alternatives
Use reusable coffee pods or a different method of making coffee such as french press or pour-over using a reusable filter. It's best to buy coffee in bulk using a reusable container or reuse a small paper bag multiple times before recycling.
Facts
Single-use coffee pods are a major source of pollution. The process of growing and producing coffee is plagued with negative consequences on the environment, most notably intensive water use, water pollution, and deforestation.
