Make sure it's empty, and leave the tab attached. You do not need to wash alumninum cans prior to recycling. Place in blue recycling cart.

Opt for a drink in a reusable glass or bottle instead, and carry it with you.
Facts
Aluminum products come from bauxite ore mined in countries such as Australia, China, and Brazil. Mining is associated with a number of environmental and social concerns, but metal can be continuously recycled so the need for more raw material can and should be minimized, as with increased recycling.
