Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste -- Hayward Facility

Accepts hazardous wastes from households and qualifying businesses in Alameda County. Accepted materials include: batteries, fluorescents, paints, adhesives, auto additives, pesticides, herbicides, some misc. chemicals, prescription and over the counter medicines (except for controlled substances). Does not accept asbestos, railroad ties, treated wood (arsenic). Also operates facilities located in Fremont, Livermore, and Oakland, which are each open on certain days for drop off. Call or check web site for addresses, hours, open dates, and detailed lists of what you can and cannot drop off.

Green Hauling

Since 2006, Green Hauling has specialized in delivering clean containers directly to your home or job site, just about anywhere in Alameda, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, San Francisco, and surrounding Bay Area. You can load the containers or they can do the lifting for you. Our goal is to make the task of removing your clutter as quick and painless as possible, all while keeping an eye towards the environment. We repurpose or recycle 85% of all materials collected, taking their green efforts a step further by hauling materials in their fleet of vegetable oil-powered vehicles. In most cases, they are available on short notice calls. We offer debris boxes, and junk removal and hauling.
